The thing about The Face Shop is that even when you go in knowing that you only need 1 thing (like a cleanser), you end up leaving with about twice as much stuff. Or in my case, 4 times as much stuff.
The Face Shop: Rice Water Bright Cleansing Foam
I have been using this cleanser (far right in the above photo) since high school, largely because it has the same price point as many other cleansers you find in the drugstore, but it looks better and smells prettier. The products smells faintly of sweet rice, and is a sticky cream where “a little goes a long way” is the rule of thumb.
It promises to brighten your face, and I am honestly not the best person to say whether or not that is true. I mainly use this cleanser at night, while I use the Korres Milk Protein cleanser in the morning.
The Face Shop: Natural Sun Oil-Cut Sun Cream
I had used this before and honestly didn’t think it was very special. Yes, it kept me matte all day and blocked the sun, but it was hard to work into the skin and left a white cast if not properly applied. It wasn’t my favorite thing to apply in the morning, shall we say.
However, it wasn’t until I switched sunscreens and found my face an oil spill by noon that I realized how well this sunscreen worked with my skin.
It is pricier than your run-of-the-mill sunscreen, but the ability to throw it on and let it provide the same magic of a primer and sunscreen without a problem is well worth the money.
The Face Shop: Nail Polish Top Coats
I am going to be completely honest here, and that I can’t even differentiate the differences between these two top coats. They’re fine. Not great.
(I miss Seche Vite.)
And of course in true Asian beauty fashion, the nice ladies at The Face Shop threw in a bunch of samples with my purchase. I have actually used 2 of these items before (the Chia Seed moisturize and the CC cream) to great success in the past, so it’s nice to have these old favorites in my life again, albeit in a smaller sample pack-sized capacity.
