Like a lot of people I have very sensitive skin, which makes me fairly unwelcoming to new skincare products. , a skincare product needs to be killer in order to find its place in my family of skincare products. Although it might be too early to say, I think this exfoliant from the European Wax Center might pull it off.
Available for a whopping $38, it is certainly not the cheapest product on the market. On the bright side however, you do get a lot of product (2oz) housed in a sleek and sturdy container. The website claims that it is comprised of fruit enzymes, vitamins, antioxidants, etc. etc. They claim it can be used all over the body and face, although I won't be able to comment on how it works on anywhere else on the body besides the face.
When you open it, the first thing you'll get is this incredible fruity smell; not in that sick sour candy way, but in a light and juicy fruity way. (The only other thing I'm irrationally weak for besides packaging is scent.) Inside, the product is a gel-like consistency which is sticky to the touch. There are no visible microbeads or other physical exfoliants; just the smooth gel and its fruity enzymes. How to use it according to the store attendant:
- On dry skin, apply a thin layer to the face
- Wait 1 whole minute for the gel to "activate"; it will tingle a bit on the skin
- Rub the gel in circular motions, and eventually the dead skin will begin to be sloughed off
- Rinse and dry
After using it, my skin is stupidly smooth and polished. It also doesn't feel too dry, although I would still highly recommend following with a moisturizer.
Thanks for the review! How often should this product be used?
ReplyDeleteTara - Similar to other exfoliants, so about 1-2 a week depending on your skin's sensitivity.
